Description

Job Title: Software Engineer

Location: Columbia, MD or Rome, NY

Required Education: Desired not required: Bachelor of Arts (BA)/Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or years of experience in lieu of degree. MS in Computer Science

Description and Responsibilities:

The Software Engineer will integrate with the software team to develop new data analytic solution software and enhance existing suite of data analytic toolsets. Development of interfaces to and integration between the software platform and high side systems will occur, and the SWE will be expected to assist with the development, deployment, administration and integration of data analytic frameworks. A knowledge of bulk, streaming, time series and graph analytic engineering will be needed. Finally, the SWE will also be required to develop user interfaces in partnership with a user experience and design (UXConduct incident/event investigation and analysis and tests security products and systems to detect security weaknesses. Assesses and detects network vulnerabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of Software Engineering experience
  • Recommend individuals who have familiarity with and core competencies in Unix/Linux, Docker, Cisco Routers, Network Design, Python, Java, Javascript, PHP, HTML, Competencies CSS, SQL/MySQL, BASH Scripting, Web Design, System Analysis and Design, Adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Database Design, XACML, Security (TPM / Remote Attestation, PKI, smart cards), Elasticsearch, Kibana, Apache, nginx, Selenium, Text Analysis, Flask, Apache Tomcat, big data analytics

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the work day.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
