Description

Job Title: 802.1x Engineer

Location: Arlington, VA - Pentagon

Required Clearance: Secret

Required Education: BS degree in related field (or 4 years of additional experience can be substituted in lieu of degree)

Required Certifications: Current DoD 8570 IAT Certification i.e. IAT Level I

Description and Responsibilities:

  • Provides problem and incident resolution, including dealing with software and hardware vendor technical support
  • Experience with IP routing and Ethernet switching networks
  • Experience with 802.1x, RADIUS, VLAN and DHCP technologies
  • Familiarity with Certificate architectures including Certificate Authority (CA) and Trusted Root Certification Authorities, Certificate Revocation Lists (CRL), Certificate Signing Request (CSR)
  • Experience with configuration of Network Access Control (NAC) RADIUS based services, or
  • Experience with configuration of Role/Realm Policy based VPN Services
  • Demonstrates an understanding of policy logic flow and development
  • Experience with system security hardening
  • Experience with either ClearPass, ISE, or forescout is recommended.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of related experience
  • Hands-on experience designing and defining system architecture for new or existing computer systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Must be a team player

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred Experience working in IT networking / transport enterprise environment
  • Preferred Experience with process / procedure development / implementation
  • Preferred Experience with collaborating / facilitating with internal and external stakeholder
  • Preferred Experience / understanding of 802.1x technology and implementation

Working Conditions:

Work is typically based in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, however some extended or weekend hours may be required. Additional details on the precise hours will be informed to the candidate from the Program Manager/Hiring Manager.

Physical Requirements:

May be required to lift and carry items weighting up to 25 lbs. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching and bending throughout the work day.

Background Screening/Check/Investigation:

Successful Completion of a Background Screening/Check/Investigation will be required as a condition of hire.
