Relationship Officer

Main Responsibilities: 

  • Provides commercial banking services to corporate customers according to the established business objective

  • Calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business and expand or retain existing business relationship.

  • Interviews prospective clients to collect information concerning their business needs, desires, abilities, and earnings to determine whether a loan is an acceptable risk.

  • Evaluates the financial condition of the client, the value of pledged collateral, and the clients’ management effectiveness and competency.

  • Makes recommendations on loans and terms to Team Head.

  • Monitors quality of existing accounts. Review existing loans and commitments to identify potential credit problems and ensures conformity with agreement terms; implement appropriate action should an unfavorable trend develop

  • Verifies the assigned accounts and ensures they confirm to contract and policy limits.

  • Ensures the completion of documents and data required.

  • Identifies unfavourable trends and recommends corrective actions.

  • Identifies business opportunities and develop new relationship in order to achieve specific targets of profitability

  • Liaises with the Operations Department on accounting, credit, collection and activities relating commercial banking


Incumbent Requirements:

  • University degree

  • Good marketing sense preferably with exposure in local and cross border business

  • Good analytical skills and credit sense in analyzing relevant data from clients’ portfolio

  • Good interpersonal skill in establishing and maintaining relationship with customers

  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements of the banking industry

  • Good command of spoken and written English, Chinese and Putonghua
