Description

SUMMARY

This role will assist in reviewing, analyzing, placing and administering the Corporate master insurance program as well as the Stand-Alone Project insurance programs.  This individual will be part of the Risk & Insurance Group and report to the Risk Manager.

 

Managing Property & Casualty Insurance

  • Participate in the review, evaluation and placement as well as renewal of the Master Insurance Program and individual Project-Specific programs

  • Assist in the administration of comprehensive insurance programs for the Corporate, Operating Company, and Project-Specific operations, including participation in the negotiation of policy terms and conditions

  • Provide consultation and technical advice on insurance and risk management issues to departments, Operating Companies and Projects

  • Assist with managing Premium Audit process

  • Negotiate and maintain strong relationships with and manage services provided by insurers, brokers and other partners internal & external necessary to the management of the risk and insurance programs
  • Assist in developing and implementing relevant risk management policies, training and communication

  • Manage data gathering and processing across the organization
  • Maintain Premium database
  • Review policies and coverages
  • Prepare necessary reports for Corporate Management and Operating Companies
  • Process Certificates of Insurance & Auto ID Card requests
  • Verify premium & loss charges and allocate to appropriate operating company
  • Various Administrative Functions

 

Administration of Claims

  • Research and report/support property and casualty claims
  • Oversee claim administrators
  • Maintain claim database
  • Prepare necessary reports (Claim Trend Analysis, Expense Analysis, etc.)
  • Coordinate with the carrier, broker & Operating Companies on claim coverage issues; participate in claim review meetings and analysis of claim reserves

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years in the commercial insurance or risk management arena

  • Knowledge of construction industry and heavy civil contractor exposures in particular

  • Ability to analyze complex problems involving varying information and to develop viable outcomes and recommendations
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to adapt to project developments, communicate clearly, demonstrate leadership, drive results, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Superior interpersonal skills:
    • Ease in working with people across the organizational hierarchy
    • A demonstrated ability to interact with senior executives
    • Naturally adaptive to different audiences
    • Diplomatic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in data analytics, proficiency in Excel and databases
  • Working knowledge of OCIPs, CCIPs, 3P Programs
  • Professional designation a plus
  • Ability to work in small team and independently
