Superintendent of Underground Utilities:

The Professional Wet/Dry Utilities Superintendent is responsible for providing field supervision over crews involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground distribution and service lines, meters, metering equipment, and related equipment. Maintaining a positive attitude at all times, including in adverse situations and be a positive influence within and outside the company. The Superintendent serves as the front-line Safety Officer for the site/project, and is directly responsible for the Safety of their crews.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in verifiable Wet/Dry Utilities

  • Ability to read blue prints

  • Job knowledge and productivity

  • Knowledgeable in operating excavators, loaders, and backhoes

  • Understanding of installing underground wet/dry utilities

  • Demonstrates ability to lead in a safe, consistent manner per OSHA requirements

  • Ability to effectively supervise multiple crews

  • Ability to communicate effectively with other workers, supervisors, and senior management

  • A strong work history

  • Possess individual initiative and reliability

  • Check and inspect crew vehicles for proper operating conditions, proper security, and proper stock materials

  • Ensures that all timecards are signed by all crew members and turned in for processing ie; diaries and timecards are to be sent in at the end of each day

  • Perform inspections of crews, providing feedback, stopping any unsafe work (stop work authority), and completing reports as necessary; work plans and methods, JHA , DRA etc.

  • Must have a valid Class A driver’s license and clean driving record

  • Must be certified competent person

  • Must have knowledge of trenching/shoring
