    Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering Services, this position is responsible for developing and managing a significant portfolio of services, with specific focus on Building Systems, Structures and Geotechnical Engineering. Providing hands-on management of human resources, clients and projects, the successful candidate in this newly created role will lead Chazen's expansion into the Building Systems market and further enhance a successful Structures and Geotechnical Engineering Service Group.

    The following are primary job functions/responsibilities:

    • Serve as Group Director with responsibility for day-to-day operations, including scheduling, financial and project management.
    • As a Practice Leader, participates in planning and participating in business development activities related to Building Systems, Structures and Geotechnical Engineering in private and public sector markets. Provides input into department and companywide business-planning processes.
    • Recruits, trains, mentors and coaches staff and ensures HR programs and practices are implemented to attract, motivate and retain professional talent in particular, engineering talent.
    • Ensures implementation of Chazen practices for project management, including the implementation of proper engineering standards and operating procedures, and QAQC procedures.
    • Serves as client and and/or project manager for significant projects/ clients and may serve as a technical lead on critical projects
    • Provides technical engineering expertise across the country.
    • Other duties as assigned.


    • The ideal candidate possesses a minimum of 20 years of professional experience, including 5 years (minimum) relevant experience in a leadership level position. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering as well as licensure as a PE are required.
