Travelzoo is seeking an Assistant Producer in our Sydney office. This role is responsible for researching, writing, evaluating, test booking and publishing offers we recommend for our members. This requires careful attention to detail, a high-level of account management, a passion for travel, and the ability to work closely with others.

The ideal candidate should be well-travelled and have a passion for exploring the world. Our Production team relish the idea of spending hours researching travel deals – and at Travelzoo, we do this every day so our members don’t have to. Strong writing skills are essential in order to communicate the most important details to our members in a fun and conversational way as well as the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. 

This position is based in Sydney.

Responsibilities:

  • Source on behalf of Travelzoo’s 28 million members worldwide to source the best deals
  • Build client relationships that result in the best offers for our members, while balancing the clients’ need
  • Use various sources to be aware of travel deals in the market, then evaluate them to publish the very best in a quick and effective manner
  • Research offers as provided to determine their true value
  • Convey concisely to our members what makes the deal and destination amazing, while balancing what members need to know
  • Review a variety of offers to find the very best ones and push them forward
  • Give feedback to Publishers and fellow Producers on what makes a deal worthy of publish
  • Write headlines and stories for publish
  • Monitor and analyse performance; make adjustments and recommendations in order to ensure our members see the best deals and clients’ expectations are met
  • Pitch your best deals to Publishers
  • Work closely with Sales counterparts to develop new client relationships and grow current ones
  • Special projects as assigned (including click trends, market research, website assistance)
  • Displaying a high level of detail, organization and critical thinking in all work, including researching, writing, selecting and evaluating deals.

Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in Journalism, Marketing or Hospitality
  • 1-3+ years of experience; new graduates with relevant internship experience considered
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • A high-performance focus, strong work ethic and sound judgement
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proven passion for travel, including experience booking personal travel
