IS Quality Assurance Lead

To lead the quality assurance testing team and assure that the delivered software meets the requirements of the business. 
  1. Plan, create and communicate test plans.
  2. Work with the business and IS to develop test cases.
  3. Execute test plans and test cases.
  4. Identify needed testing effort size and scope to determine quality assurance resource needs.
  5. Identify testing tools to support test automation, test management and test reporting.
  6. Design and implement quality metrics and testing processes.
  7. Identify areas of focus and prioritize testing based on prior areas of concern and current and future development.
  8. Review, evaluate and document existing quality assurance/testing processes and standards.
  9. Monitor testing progress and report progress to leadership.
  10. Lead and assign quality assurance resources to test events and project plan activities.
  11. Assist with configuration of test data and test environments.
  12. Participate in software development meetings to deliver software that meets requirements during the test cycles.
  13. Introduce and promote best-practice methodology in quality assurance within the team.
  14. Partner with software development team to ensure delivery of a high-quality product compatible with release timeline targets.
  15. Train, coach and develop quality assurance team members.
  1. Understand the importance of customer service and convey and implement it throughout the quality assurance team.
  2. Work with 3rd party vendors to coordinate cross vendor testing
  3. Lead training of IS Quality Assurance Analysts on quality assurance best practices
  4. Update functional designs to include test plan execution criteria

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is responsible for team leadership.

  1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business analysis, or related field preferred.  Will consider employees without a bachelor’s degree with requisite experience.
  2. Five or more years working in software quality assurance in a formal software development environment.  
  3. Prior experience leading a quality assurance team preferred.
  4. Prior experience in the design and implementation of quality control testing processes and metrics. 
  5. Experience with Junit and other automated testing tools.
  6. Experience with CICD tools
  7. Experience with Test Case Management tools like HP or Spiratest
  8. Experience with Performance, Vulnerability, Load, Fault Tolerance and Penetration Testing preferred.
