Impark is currently looking for a FULL-TIME DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS to work at our downtown San Francisco office.


The position of Director, Operations is responsible for core service delivery in an Impark region.  Specifically, this means ensuring that the Branches parking lots and support departments operate consistent with Impark’s established policies & procedures, and delivers the commitments made by Account Management and Business Development personnel.

The role includes oversight of Impark’s support services teams (Valet, Hotels, Hospitals, Event Venues, Budgeting and Revenue Enhancements, Meter operations, patrol & enforcement, lot maintenance, equipment maintenance, field cash handling) as well as office administration (non-accounting), field staff performance and policy & procedure compliance (loss prevention & quality control).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Contact w/ Account Management: Respond to and handle operational requests and/or issues in a timely fashion to ensure client satisfaction.
  • New Business Development: Participate in business development process by supplying operating plans for proposed new locations. Review user requests for new meters, meter moves and replacement parts; vet for required forms and requirements for compliance
  • Retention: Participate in client retention activities by meeting with clients from time to time to relay specific operational information and support the Account Management team.
  • Union Management. If applicable, responsible for liaising with the Union Business Representatives as well as attending grievance meetings.
  • Hire Management Staff: Responsible for the recruitment and selection process for management staff including liaising with the Human Resource Department.
  • Formal Discipline: Responsible for staff disciplinary action, including issuing of written warnings.
  • Promote: Responsible for performing personnel reviews and appraisals as required
  • Terminations: Responsible for monitoring and follow up action on staff discipline and participating in dismissal proceedings.
  • Training: Responsible for new hire orientation training, completion of new hire paperwork, and issuing of uniforms.


Education, Skills and Experience:

  • The ideal candidate will have College level experience equivalent to a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration
  • 7 years’ experience managing and training a large team of employees including managers with supervisory responsibilities
  • 3 years’ Parking management experience
  • 3 years’ Business development experience
  • 3 years’ Experience planning and achieving an annual operating plan
  • Ability to successfully manage and train other employees
  • Strong computer skills required, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to own vehicle, and clean driving record.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external parties.
