Responsible for overall engineering activities. Order and schedule activities and resources; interact with owners and coordinate and manage sub-contractors; develop agreements, progress reports, complete invoicing, track and analyze costs, quantity calculations, spreadsheets, pay estimates, bids and take-offs for future work. Maintain accurate cost report and forecasts gain/loss on work. On larger projects, assist Project Manager in supervising project personnel to include scheduling, conflict resolution, work hours, etc. (or has full responsibility on small or mid-sized projects). Ensure safety and quality on project. Work in alignment with Graniterock Safe Work Practices, Core Purpose, Values, and Objectives, and support "One Company" principles
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering, Construction Management, or related major.
SKILLS: Must have excellent communication, negotiation and time management skills. Ability to read plans and interpret contract specifications; demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Primavera Scheduling; knowledge of construction equipment and materials. Ability to maintain project records, schedules and costs.
EXPERIENCE: 5+ years Project Engineer experience.
SKILLS: Proficient in CADD or similar program, HCSS HeavyJob, understand survey; ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
EXPERIENCE: 5-7 years heavy civil engineering experience in a variety of areas (underground, concrete structures, paving, grading, etc.)
OTHER COMMENTS: Must have valid CA Driver's License and clean driving record.
