We’re seeking a multidimensional instructional design consultant with demonstrated experience in developing client solutions and achieving results. The consultant, instructional design and product development is responsible for personally delivering on client projects and in some cases manages projects to ensure the work is performed to meet client needs. In addition, you will manage product development for the firm. This includes evolving existing products and programs to improve the learner experience and creating new products and programs that will help position FlashPoint for continued growth. In both aspects of this role, the consultant, instructional design and product development works to increase client loyalty by delivering the outcomes and value our clients expect. This position also requires the consultant to remain focused on our client experience—delivering what was promised when it was promised. The consultant regularly collaborates with other delivery team members on our client challenges to get the best possible outcomes, together.
Essential functions include the following:
Exhibits a high degree of professional influence and presence; utilizes a high level of technical knowledge to suggest ideas to augment our firm’s thought leadership; stays abreast of trends in our practice areas.
Maintains a strong working knowledge of advanced concepts and practices within leadership consulting including adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies; learns about our clients and their industries.
Uses design expertise to create the most impactful leadership development programs; assesses and analyzes needs; asks the right questions to gather information in order to best diagnose the client’s needs; helps the client to define success measures and ensures clarity of project scope.
Creates strategies/plans to address client needs; translates potential solutions into a visual experience, explaining why the design solves for the client’s needs; configures program experiences that match client priorities.
Researches and develops leadership program materials for individual, group, and organization-wide programs; develops training and program content, along with designing all associated participant materials and activities; understands multiple approaches to client deliverables and utilizes their experiences to create the right solutions for the right situations; adheres to all intellectual property requirements, avoiding plagiarism, and ensures proper citations in all materials.
Serves as part of project teams on a variety of consulting engagements such as designing and executing leadership conferences, implementing leadership cohort programs, and more; measures, monitors, and reports on the effectiveness of programs by assessing learning application, follow-through, and performance improvement.
Manages the client experience, ensuring that clients feel connected to FlashPoint and know of our events and other connection opportunities.
Creates project plans, manages multiple projects simultaneously, and ensures timelines keep momentum and don’t stall.
Works with senior partners and other team members at the firm to create engaging, cutting-edge content for leaders across a range of leadership- and management-related content.
Manages the editing and material development processes and coaches the team around content and usage standards.
Improves existing leadership products and programs that evolve and modernize the learner experience to drive greater behavior change and business impact.
Serves as a thought leader, proactively providing trends, topic ideas, and best practices to firm SMEs and other teams to inform improvements.
10-15 years of experience designing and implementing leadership programs/content/products for leaders across organizational levels in mid- and large-sized organizations.
Bachelor’s degree in related field is required.
Knowledge of adult learning theories and experience with a variety of modern learning modalities (instructor-led, case studies, scenarios, simulations, mobile, microlearning, social, coaching, mentoring, etc.).
Experience with learning management systems, online learning platforms, Adobe suite, and other related software is required.
Advanced degree is preferred.
Strong project management skills to lead a program or product from inception to execution.
Track record of effectively identifying, evaluating, and articulating a fit between business needs and leadership development solutions.

Be computer savvy and proficient with multiple applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. You will be responsible for creating customized deliverables and you must be able to design them in a creative, attractive, and professional manner.
