Join us and begin shaping your experience at Sovereign. We are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team. You will be the key liaison between business clients and IT areas, ranging across internal and external teams. The successful candidate will play an integral role by employing an in-depth understanding of the business processes and the application of technology to find creative solutions. You will be a concise communicator, inquisitive by nature, with the experience to elicit and document requirements according to stakeholder and project needs.

 

What you’re responsible for:

  • Negotiating with and influencing stakeholders through the elicitation, documentation and validation of requirements on medium to large scale projects involving various business areas.

  • Facilitating the engagement and collaboration of project team members through risk identification, analysis, functional specifications and the development of potential solutions.

  • Encouraging and modeling a creative approach to problem solving, relationship management, and communication to drive effective results.

  • Establishing and monitoring the traceability of requirements during design, development, and testing across multiple systems to ensure the solution aligns to the business benefits.

  • Providing thought leadership and advocating for the adoption of modernized software, practice improvements, and operational excellence to be leveraged during project execution.

To join our team:

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification and/or International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certification, with 10 years of experience delivering IT projects, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Proven experience with various delivery methods (agile, iterative, etc.), and vendor partnerships.

  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Visio, Excel, SharePoint, One Note/One Drive, and Outlook.

  • Experience in the Insurance Industry and/or familiarity with JIRA/Confluence/Zephyr considered an asset.
