Development Associate I, Process Development

This is a Development Technician position in the Process Development Support group.  Primary responsibility will be to support the process development team processes used for the manufacture of therapeutic recombinant proteins.  The successful candidate will be responsible for lab support. Under general supervision, this person carries out routine to moderately complex lab operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lab maintenance including cleaning, autoclaving parts, stocking laboratory supplies and performing maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Glass wash maintenance – removal, cleaning, stocking
  • Prepare and stores media and buffers for all PD/R&D teams
  • Opportunities to develop more advances skills in analytical, cell culture, or purification operations.
  • Identify basic technical problems and report them to their supervisor
  • Contribute to lab continuous improvement
  • Warehouse deliveries to all PD labs
  • BMRAM maintenance
    • Liaison to engineering department
    • Keeping track of calibrations/asset ID needs

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or A.A. in a life science or engineering with 0-3 years of industrial experience
  • Candidate should have good mechanical aptitude and be comfortable working with computers and analytical equipment.
  • Must have good written & oral communication skills and technical ability
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot
  • The ability to work independently and in a team setting
  • Weekend and occasional evening work may be required
  • Able to lift 30 pounds and good manual dexterity to work in a laboratory environment
  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, organized, and be willing to perform both routine tasks and develop new skills.
  • Previous demonstrated experience in a lab environment preferred.
