SUMMARY:           

Work closely with clients from initial contact through completion of their event confirming all details of the event and ensuring all details have been communicated via banquet event order to the Food & Beverage management team on a timely basis. This includes answering initial inquiries, offering property tours, reviewing all room and set up options, décor and food with clients.

Includes responsibility for booking events including but not limited to weddings, anniversary parties, business meetings, and holidays parties.

Responsible for the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the banquets and catering department. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review all Banquet Event Orders on a daily basis to determine staffing levels, location set-up, related supplies and decorating materials
  • Ensure events are set up on time, the quality of the product and level of service delivered
  • Maintain and improve on an ongoing basis the presentation of all events at the facility
  • Process banquet checks and related documents in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures to include recording events on the POS system
  • Provide input on menu design and revisions
  • Monitor overall banquet areas for cleanliness and any maintenance issues
  • Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new employee
  • Monitor business volume forecast and plan accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses
  • Generate new business through existing clientele, networking with contacts and using social media marketing
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction
  • Regular and reliable attendance. Able and willing to work long hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays based on business requirements and operational needs
  • Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership
  • Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement
  • Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • At least 3 years of Catering/Convention/Banquets management experience
  • Previous experience working in a hotel/casino Food & Beverage division
  • Working knowledge of Audio Visual and IT systems
  • Must have working knowledge of catering sales system “Delphi”
  • Must possess strong knowledge of food and beverage financials, operations procedures, controls and administration, as well as awareness and ability to perform all sales-related functions
  • Proven experience maintaining high level of attention, detail, accuracy, and timely and consistent response while detailing with multiple concurrent projects and assignments
  • Proven experience providing high level of guest service
  • At least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
  • Verify right to work in the United States
