The Poker Manager Supervises poker room operations at Golden Gates Casino, placing special emphasis on Dealer Genuine Service, game protection and financial aspects of the department.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide “Genuine Service” to Affinity Gaming internal and external guests.
  • Displays a working knowledge of all poker games, house rules, tournaments and procedures covering each.
  • Must perform dealer rotations, starting and breaking games and maintain a clean/professional poker room.
  • Investigates and resolves customer complaints and issues.
  • Assures player development by 1) interacting with players, 2) modeling interactive skills with players and fellow team members and 3) making comp decisions.
  • Remains alert to any unusual or questionable activities being displayed by any Poker team member or player and investigates/reports Suspicious Activities (SAR) immediately to Director of Casino Operations.   
  • Observes problems or differences between Poker team members and players and provides assistance if necessary.
  • Communicates all casino promotions, marketing programs and pertinent information to dept. 
  • Actively involved in continued execution of APlay player tracking.
  • Directly supervise the Poker Room Floor and hourly staff, including hiring, scheduling, counseling, disciplinary action, up to and including terminations, appraisals, development of staff, and 
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with CDOG rules and regulations.
  • Delegation and/or execution of proper scheduling and payroll.
  • Assures highest level of game protection, Genuine Service, policy and procedures and dealer skill levels.
  • Implements and enforces all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
  • Organizes dealer training and assures continued dealer skill development.
  • Provide motivation, guidance and support to team members as needed.


  • High School graduate or equivalent required. College degree (preferred).
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a Poker Management position.
  • Knowledge of casino rules, regulations, multiple games and procedures pertinent to Poker operations is required (i.e. Rule 10 and TDA).
  • Must possess excellent customer relations, leadership communication and cash handling skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be willing to work any day of the week and any shift.
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and hold a Colorado Support Gaming License.


Must obtain a Colorado Division of Gaming Key License
