A paid internship with The First Tee headquarters offers you career-building experience with a growing team.  You’ll handle real projects and start building your resume with solid credentials.  You can plan to receive college credit along with $11.00/hour.

Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Network Relations Intern - The First Tee Headquarters 

  • Helping analyze network data
  • Assisting the coach training team
  • Assisting with the regional meetings in the fall

Events Intern  - The First Tee Headquarters 

  • Support business unit in managing the online participant application and selection process for the following national events:
  •  Perfect Sense Unified Challenge
  • John Deere Drive Your Future Academy
  • John Deere Power for Good Scholarship
  •  Life Skills & Leadership Academy
  • PURE Insurance Championship Impacting The First Tee Open
  • Manage participant travel and transportation logistics for summer events
  • Assist in reviewing event specific participant biographies for print and marketing collateral
  • Support business unit by assisting with weekly communications  to The First Tee chapter network

Communications      Intern   - The First Tee Headquarters 

  • Draft PR resources (releases, bios, talking points)
  • Monitor and compile media clippings
  • Draft social media posts, monitoring our handles

 PGA TOUR Opportunities (Seeking The First Tee Alumni)

Bridgestone SENIOR PLAYERS Championship - 

Akron, Ohio

June 10th to August 9th

Internship Duties:

  • Develop signage plan including proposed layout of off-course and on-course directional signage, sponsorship signage, etc.
  • Coordinate projected electrical, generator, HVAC and cable layout necessary for all hospitality locate
  • ons, media center and other locations
  • Assist with placement and set up of all office trailers
  • Oversee the Tournament’s Fan Zone including Expo clients and food trucks
  • Coordinate golf cart inventory, delivery and pickup; create intake plan and work with volunteer committee tournament week to ensure proper allocation of carts
  • Develop credential access boards that illustrate ability to access various areas
  • Maintain shuttle schedule from each off-site parking location
  • Manage television inventory and number of video boards; coordinate delivery, setup and take down of inventory
  • Coordination of operational aspects of catering/concessionaire setup and compound location
  • Create and utilize a log for each shipment prior to tournament week; assist volunteer committee during tournament week to ensure proper delivery of shipments
  • Develop fencing plan (locations and dates) for BOH areas, POLs, Driving Range, Generators, TV Compound and other areas with the help of the Operations Manager

Internship Duties:

Applicant must be willing to work long hours prior to and during the tournament (event dates are August 21 - 25) 

  • Work closely with the Tournament Operations Manager to activate all aspects of TOUR Championship
  • Assist with management of vendor, club staff, and tour staff relationship
  • Direct management of vendors such as:

Tournament Services Internship

Monday, August 5th – Friday, November 8th, 2019

Description:                                                    

  • This position is responsible for assisting with the event management of volunteers and to spearhead projects and
  • events necessary prior to and during tournament week.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Communication and public relations with volunteers and corporate clients.
  • Event pre-planning & logistics.
  • Assist with volunteer recruitment.
    1. Assign and train over 500-600 volunteers.
  • Develop volunteer training collateral.
  • Manage the volunteer uniform distribution process.
  • Management and upkeep of the volunteer database system.
  • Responsible for acquiring food and gift donations for the volunteers working prior to the event and for the Volunteer Party on Saturday, October 27 th .
  • Responsible for Food Donations for volunteers and staff leading to and during tournament week.
  • Assistance with social media content along Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Oversee and manage a youth clinic or skills challenge during tournament week.
  • Assist with day to day office responsibilities (ordering, answering phones and mailing letters)

Operations Internship

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist Operations Manager/Sr. Tournament Services Manager with day to day operational issues.
  • Coordinate vendor relationships.
  • Receive, inventory, and stock delivery items.
  • Procurement of equipment and supplies.
  • Attend meetings: Operations, Volunteer Committees Chair, etc.
  • Special Event setup.
  • Operational and logistical setup and planning.
  • Assist with tournament setup and tear down.
  • Assist with ingress and egress of Expo Tent sponsors

Sales/ Business Development Services Internship

Description:

  • This position is responsible for assisting with corporate ticket sales, corporate hospitality clients, and coordinating advertising for tournament publications. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Communication and public relations with corporate clients.
  • Contact local companies for small partnerships and group ticket sales.
  • Secure gifts for volunteer party and food donations for pre-tournament week.
  • Management and upkeep of the corporate client database system.
  • Provide client services to corporate clients.
  • Create sales reports.
  • Administer direct mail projects.
  • Assist with ticket and sales promotions.
  • Coordinate production of tournament spectator guide and program.
  • Create a corporate contract social media messaging plan that is approved by companies based upon contract deliverables.
  • Assist with community outreach programs and general administrative work .

RESPSONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the volunteer uniform distribution and process working directly with committee
  • Continue to monitor and update the hospitality website, volunteer website and event website
  • Assist with administration of volunteer workforce, including day to day interface with volunteers and leadership team, newsletters and email communication. Responsible for developing volunteer training collateral. Approx. 600 volunteers.
  • Manage the volunteer database
  • Develop and execute the volunteer party
  • Work on daily food donations from the local community for advance week and tournament week for volunteers and tournament staff.
  • Assist with social media content – Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
  • Support the set-up of military programs during tournament week
  • Assist in special events with set-up and tear down
  • Take ownership of the Putt Fore Charity Program and TICKETS Fore CHARITY Program

2019 World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational

Tournament Services Internship

Mid May – Early August , 2019

Description :

  • Contribute to the planning and execution of special events such as Media Day, golf outings, volunteer party and events benefitting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
  • Work with tournament team to service corporate hospitality areas, including developing informational collateral, activation and facilitating relationships with tournament sponsors, clients, vendors, etc.
  • Assist with Volunteer program, including: Volunteer package preparation, headquarters management, committee logistics, volunteer appreciation events, etc. 
  • Manage tournament logistics for client shuttles, credential requests and oversee process for receiving and distributing promotional items
