Description

The mission of Fair Trade USA's Certification Department is to develop, implement, and continuously improve a transparent and credible assurance model that instills confidence and is easily understood by all stakeholders. We ensure compliance with Fair Trade USA Standards and guarantee claims throughout each product’s chain of custody. Working directly with the Certification Senior Manager and collaborating with the entire Certification Team and counterparts in Business Development, Supply Chain and Data teams, this position is responsible for Fair Trade USA’s certification process with a subset of our traders and business partners.   

 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain certification relationships with Fair Trade business partners, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to certification requirements 
  • Manage assessment of Fair Trade transactions and provide analysis of trade and compliance
  • Execute chain of custody audits, identify resolutions and implement corrective measures 
  • Work effectively as a team member, supporting peers and providing insights and solutions to improve external customer service as well as internal procedures
 
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional work experience in relationship management 
  • Experience in certification systems, business, economic analysis, supply chain management, or international trade preferred
  • Experience with auditing, reconciling, collecting, and analyzing data and reports is desired
  • Must be proficient in MS Office applications (most notably Excel); previous experience with Tableau a plus
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills   
  • Must be detail-oriented, logical, systematic, methodical, highly organized, able to problem solve and often work autonomously
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong work ethic, and likes to have fun on the job
  • Fluency in both Spanish and English required
