Description

TNTP seeks a full-time Product Manager for our Technology Services department. This position is based in a home office anywhere in the U.S. or from the TNTP central office in Brooklyn, NY (preferred). Occasional travel to TNTP sites is required (up to 20%).

Who We Are

TNTP is a national nonprofit founded by teachers that believes our nation’s public schools can offer all children an excellent education. Today we’re a diverse team from a wide range of fields, united by a fierce commitment to helping school systems end educational inequality and achieve their goals for students. We work at every level of the public education system to attract and train talented teachers and school leaders, ensure rigorous and engaging classrooms, and create environments that prioritize great teaching and accelerate student learning.

Technology Services supports TNTP with internal and external client-facing technology. This role would be a part of the Development team that currently builds and maintains three custom enterprise and SaaS software products that support TNTP’s programs and clients. This year will be an exciting year of growth and opportunity on this team as we spearhead new products leveraging cutting-edge technologies.

Who We Want

We are looking for amazing people who have diverse backgrounds and experiences, are inspired by our mission and are highly motivated to change children’s lives through education. If you’ve been pegged as a problem solver, complimented for your communication skills, and proven you thrive in a fast-paced environment, you’ll be right at home here. We’re looking for talented people who learn from failure and overcome adversity, cultivate strong relationships, and push themselves, their work and the people around them to the next level.

The Product Manager will strive to build and maintain solutions that help TNTP and our clients pursue our mission of ending educational inequality. The ideal candidate will have 3-plus years of experience working on software product management, preferably for multiple products. Experienced in working in an Agile environment, this candidate can juggle multiple products and projects simultaneously, using strong project management skills.

We expect our Product Manager to:

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs, gather user requirements, and understand where their programs and initiatives are headed.
  • Develop product roadmaps that effectively balance and anticipate user and business needs while accommodating necessary technology upgrades.
  • Collaborate with the Development team to deliver high quality product releases on a regular schedule.
  • Adapt to changing needs and priorities, and creatively overcome challenges to continue to deliver value to users.
  • Wear multiple hats on a small team, including occasionally providing support.
  • Clearly communicate and document for stakeholders and the Support team what is coming and what has been delivered.
  • Collaborate with the Support team to ensure they have everything they need to effectively support users on our software.
