TNTP seeks a Temporary Senior Manager to support projects across our Client Team Group. This position may be based in a home office anywhere in the U.S. or from the TNTP central office in Brooklyn, NY, and is available immediately.

We are currently seeking individuals to join TNTP’s temporary pool to fill full-time and part-time temporary roles across the organization. TNTP Temp candidates will provide TNTP groups with additional capacity to complete priority projects or provide coverage during staff transitions and leaves. Candidates who are selected to be part of the pool will be contacted when assignments that match with their skills, abilities, and experience become available. Assignments will vary in length with most lasting between 2 weeks and 3-4 months, and work through the TNTP Temps pool is not guaranteed.

What You’ll Do

We anticipate a need for temporary employees in our external facing work in TNTP’s Client Team Group, which works alongside teachers, school leaders, districts and states to help them achieve their goals for students. Our work includes attracting high quality, diverse talent to teaching through partnerships with school districts across the country. 

Assignments will vary depending on each team’s needs and the candidate’s experience and skills. Once matched to an assignment, all TNTP Temps will be expected to:

  • Work closely with the project lead/manager to determine deliverables and deadlines
  • Meet tight deadlines and deliver high-quality work
  • Collaborate with other members of the TNTP staff
  • Respond to feedback and incorporate that feedback into the project/assignment

The Temporary Senior Manager will partner with our teams and district partners to lead efforts to recruit and cultivate high-quality, diverse talent to become teachers, including by developing the capacity of TNTP’s district partners to identify and develop high quality recruitment strategies to meet their specific needs. 

As a Senior Manager, you will partner with TNTP staff and district partners to develop a strategy for recruiting and cultivating high-quality, diverse talent for teacher and school leader pipeline programs across the country. You may design and oversee the implementation of campaigns to source and cultivate talent, and develop the capacity of TNTP’s district partners to build and execute effective recruitment campaigns, selection models, and/or retention efforts to meet their specific needs. 

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Advise and collaborate with TNTP staff and district partners to design and oversee customized recruitment, selection, and/or retention models aligned to contract goals and within contract parameters
  • Drive the vision by ensuring there is a clear long-term plan and systems to monitor progress throughout the year
  • Develop systems and processes to assess the effectiveness of efforts, and design interventions when progress is off track
  • Advise and collaborate with TNTP staff and TNTP’s district partners to identify and respond to challenges they are facing with their pipelines for teachers and school leaders, including monitoring progress against goals, determining the root cause of challenges and generating creative solutions to address challenges 
  • Work closely with staff who oversee implementation of recruitment, selection and operations
  • Develop training materials for prescreeners and phone interviewers in collaboration with other staff
  • Develop and use tools and resources in real time to respond to client needs

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Strong strategic planning and prioritization skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience with teacher recruitment and selection (strongly preferred)
  • K-12 teaching experience, preferably in high-need schools (preferred)
