Proposal Objective:

SI is responding to a Task Order under the Asia Learning and Monitoring and Evaluation (ALME) contract to conduct an end-line Performance Evaluation of the Challenge Tuberculosis (TB)-Burma program. The goal of the activity, which was implemented between 2015 and 2019, was to increase TB case funding, improve diagnostic capacity, strengthen the national TB program, and support the national multi-drug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) response.

This evaluation will assess and document Challenge TB’s most significant achievements and contributions to the national response to TB and MDR-TB in Myanmar since the start of Challenge TB, assess challenges, lessons learned and promising practices to inform future USAID/Burma TB programming, as well as highlight technical priorities and key issues for USAID TB investments in Burma.

Position Description:

Social Impact is seeking a Logistician to support the evaluation team and assist in providing overall administrative and logistical support such as scheduling interviews with relevant stakeholders, arranging transportation and hotels, confirming appointments, conducting research, locating documents, and other administrative tasks as assigned.

The period of performance is seven months, from August 2019-February 2020.

*Please note: This is a local position. Only applicants with Burmese citizenship will be considered.*

Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling interviews in a manner that ensures efficient allocation of time and re-confirming interviews with interviewees and participants. 
  • Identifying and confirming locations for interviews to take place.
  • Maintaining accurate lists and contact information for interviewees.
  • Other activities that might be required to facilitate data collection, such as arranging transportation and/or lodging for the evaluation team.

Qualifications:

  • At least three to five years of experience working for international development organizations.
  • Background in administration and/or logistics for research studies and evaluations for international development programming, ideally in the public health sector.
  • Strong professional written and verbal proficiency in the English and Burmese languages.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to work independently to meet deadlines and adhere to high quality standards.
  • Ability and willingness to travel in Burma for fieldwork.
