Project Background

SI is implementing a one-year extension of the Democracy and Governance (DG) Monitoring and Evaluation Support Activity (MESA) to provide the USAID DG office with flexible, demand-driven, technical, analytic, advisory, training, monitoring, evaluation, and related support services for performance measurement, planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, activity mapping, and performance information management and dissemination activities.

DG MESA is conducting a Political Economy Analysis (PEA) of the Cox’s Bazar and Bandarban areas in Bangladesh to help USAID/Bangladesh better understand the local development policy, planning, and networks in communities impacted by the Rohingya refugee crisis.

** Please note: This is a local position. Only Bangladeshi citizens will be considered. **

The Local Interpreter should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred.
  • Professional fluency in English, Bengali, and Rohingya language required.
  • Availability during the full period of fieldwork (February 23-March 14).
  • Prior experience providing interpretation for in-person interviews and events required, including demonstrated experience providing Rohingya-English interpretation.
