This activity is a part of the Asia Learning and M&E Support Project, a $50 million sole-source IDIQ held by Social Impact and issued by the USAID Regional Development Mission for Asia (RDMA). The IDIQ provides M&E and other related technical and/or advisory services to USAID Missions, implementing partners (IPs), and key stakeholders throughout the Asia Region.
USAID/RDMA, with the support of Social Impact, will conduct a 3-day training and workshop focused on the use and implications of artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML) specifically, in the international development sector. This 3-day training will provide an opportunity for USAID staff to gain a deeper understanding of how AI/ML works, understand the basic steps required to implement AI/ML in a development project, discuss potential challenges and limitations, and examine case studies on the various potential use-cases in the international development sector including: healthcare, agriculture, democracy and governance, workforce development and other areas. The third day will include participants from the technology sector, other donors, and implementing partners and will provide an opportunity for USAID staff to apply what they have learned by collaborating with experts in the AI/ML field. The training is set to take place in Bangkok, Thailand in late October 2018.
Social Impact is seeking a short term Team Leader to support this training as an AI/ML expert. The period of performance is July through October 2018 and preference will be given to candidates already based in Bangkok or in SE Asia.
