The City-County Information Technology Commission (CCITC) serves the City of Wausau, Marathon County, North Central Health Care (NCHC) and other local government entities by providing the planning, design, implementation and operation of cooperative Information Technologies solutions and services. We provide a staff of highly trained and dedicated IT professionals providing Project Management, Programming, Networking, PC Support, Technology Purchasing, Business Analysis and Strategic Planning.

Act as a member of the PC Support team. Install and support a variety of desktop solutions including PCs, laptops, printers, tablets, smartphones, VOIP telephone systems, projectors, etc. Install, configure, train and troubleshoot software on all client devices. Answer support calls and document activities in an electronic trouble ticket system. Work with customers over the telephone, remotely (via remote desktops) and in person to troubleshoot and resolve problems with the network, servers, PC, Internet, telephone, software applications, etc. Backup the Helpdesk and Operations staff as needed. Participate in a team of staff that rotate through on-call 24x7 support responsibilities. Ensure that the highest level of customer service is being provided to our customers. The work is performed under the direction of the IT Support Manager.
A minimum of an Associate degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field with at least one year PC Support experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license is required and reliable transportation. A candidate with a high level of applicable experience and education may be hired as an IT Technician - Senior PC.
The following duties are normal for this classification. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Troubleshoots PC and network hardware and software problems, answers procedural, specific software, general questions and questions about peripheral equipment operation from users both in-person and by telephone.
Installs, configures, tests and supports a variety of client software applications, operating systems and browsers.
Performs routine hardware repairs.
Runs and may write utility programs to resolve problems.
Assists the network team members with network changes.
May plan and coordinate network wiring with outside vendors. Installs and/or terminates network wiring or cabling.
Provides voice and video communications support as required.
Consults with software, hardware and/or network vendors to resolve problems.
Trains/instructs users regarding networks, software and Internet.
Communicates clearly and effectively to customers, management and other IT staff the current status of all projects and tasks.
Provides 24x7 on-call support as required.
Researches new technologies/software used by CCITC and its customers.
Keeps up to date with current technology trends
Completes reports on a timely basis.
May create and post information/graphics to websites.
Receives and delivers PC equipment.
Maintains technical knowledge of PC/network technologies.
Attends conferences and seminars.
Moves and reprograms VOIP stations.
Ensures all requests for service are documented. Ensures information on all service requests are accurate and required elements are included. Ensures all service requests are followed up.
May backup and support activities on server and midrange equipment as requested.
Writes clear documentation to document installations and troubleshooting techniques for IT staff and end users

Demonstrated ability to provide excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be dedicated to providing excellent customer service. Willingness to be an effective team player dedicated to the success of the whole team.
Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Relevant Microsoft and/or industry certifications preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of network administration tasks and software. Knowledge and understanding of Help Desk software administrative tasks.
The PC Support Technician position is a non-exempt, hourly position. The pay classification has a range of $22.82/hr to midpoint (market) of $26.81/hr. A candidate with a high level of applicable experience and education may be hired as a IT Technician - Senior PC which has a higher pay classification.
