Participate as a member of the Network/Server support team. This team has the responsibility of ensuring reliable, maintainable systems for our customers in the networking, server and database areas.
The individual in this position will design, install, maintain and administer IT systems at CCITC and its customers. This position will be responsible for installing and maintaining servers, databases, storage area networks, network attached storage, and virtual server software.
The individual will also be expected to act as a project manager for certain projects which will include helping write Request For Proposals (RFP) and bids, product selection, budgeting, estimating, and ensuring that the project finishes on time, on budget and within scope. The work is performed under the direction of the Network Manager.
Optional areas: Cisco UCS, Cisco VOIP hardware and software, as well as digital video recording hardware and software.
Bachelor's degree in MIS or Computer Science preferred. At least three years experience in server, database and/or network administration including Microsoft Windows Server, SQL Server, VMWare, Microsoft Exchange, Must be familiar with current versions of these platforms and have a broad background in server, database, network security and networking hardware including a variety of storage technologies (ex: SAN, NAS, etc) as well as backup and archiving systems. Experience with SQL server databases and server/network security practices a plus. Project management experience is a must.
Any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. Ability to obtain or possession of a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and have own transportation to customer sites.
Additional consideration will be given to applicants with Cisco UCS, Cisco VOIP, VMWare and/or other Cisco systems support experience.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Design, test, install, maintain and administer server operating systems (ex: Microsoft Windows Server 2012, VMWare, DNS, DHCP, Exchange and Active Directory). Patch OS as needed.
Working with vendors and CCITC analysts, install 3rd party vendor applications on CCITC servers. Help others test and troubleshoot all server applications and interfaces between applications.
Build, test, support server hardware - Cisco UCS and HP technologies, iSCSI SANs and other storage solutions, tape backup systems and a variety of backup technologies such as Backup Exec, VEEAM and Drobo.
Design, install, maintain and administer network systems. These systems include LAN, WAN, Firewalls, security appliances, wireless APs and controllers; switches, routers, tape and disk backup systems, and other dedicated appliances.
Designs, installs, maintains and administers Cisco VOIP hardware, software, management tools and interfaces to the public switched telephone network.
Coordinates vendor and manufacturer support when necessary.
Designs, installs, maintains and administers digital video systems including system management tools and multi-user applications.
Designs and work with cabling contractors on IP networking cabling both indoor and outdoor.
Work with computer operations staff to ensure proper backup of all system data. Serve as secondary support in this area should operations staff be unavailable.
Using industry standard project management practices, act as a project manager to ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget and in scope. Keep CCITC management up to date on project activities using project status reports.
Administer SQL databases
Participate in second level on-call schedule for service outages.
Maintain inventory records.
Create and maintain systems documentation.
Manage project documents, schedules and budgets.
Keep skills updated regarding new technologies, product offerings, and industry best practices.
Configure, install and maintain new technologies. Create documentation and train other staff.

Salary commensurate with experience. The salary range is $59,929 to $71,914.
It is possible that a highly qualified candidate might be offered a position as Sr. Network Analyst.
