The Experience Designer will be integral to the creative ideation process, reporting to the Creative Director, and working closely with the Art Director and Copywriter from concept through execution. With inputs from Insight & Strategy (consumer/shopper behavior), Comms Planning (media habits), Creative (ideas/tactics), and the Digital Solutions COE, the Sr. Digital Art Director/ Experience Designer will leverage a strong understanding of current platforms and technology to craft and design holistic retail and promotion activation ecosystems that combine digital, environmental and traditional retail creative touch-points, designed to most effectively reach consumers/shoppers and convert them to action.


 Creates compelling concepts/designs with skill and personal style

  • Demonstrates above-average skills needed for digital art direction including:

    • Design sense (i.e., color theory, typography, composition)

    • Applying knowledge of Brand Voice and Audience (i.e., look, tone, and feel)

    • Student of CPG/shopper marketing business and trends

    • Understanding of best practices & design conventions for digital desktop and mobile experiences.

    • An understanding of design patterns and how design decisions have an impact on the implementation in HTML, CSS & JavaScript using web standards.

    • Solid understanding of web development processes including: informational architecture, usability/user experience testing & quality assurance.

    • Keeps working files organized and manageable.

    • Knowledge of industry trends and ability to incorporate these trends into developed work

    • Demonstrates exceptional problem-solving skills through an ability to generate multiple solutions/creative concepts/layouts across all platforms (desktop, mobile, promotional, retail, and advertising mediums).

Craft and design holistic activation ecosystems that combine digital, environmental and traditional creative touch-points.

  • Works as integral part of Creative team to help transform strategic insights into innovative, effective ideas that drive transaction including digital execution.

  • Translates approved ideas into end-to-end experiences, manifested in an experience map, designed to best reach the intended audience in the most creative, compelling ways

  • Works closely with Insight & Strategy, Media and Digital/Tech departments to ensure experience ecosystems are strategically, financially and technically viable

  • Communicates regularly with internal Digital Center of Excellence to stay on top of latest platforms and technology, bringing that knowledge to bear during ideation and execution of client programs.

  • Help identify specialty skills necessary outside of the core team to facilitate production

  • Shows financial responsibility by working within project budgets, finding innovative cost-saving solutions, and completing timesheets every week.

  • Establishes and maintains the agency “Vision and Values” in the department and the agency.



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher with an emphasis in Advertising/Graphic Design or other applicable field

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a digital creative agency position.

  • UX, UI or Social/Content Dev. background with an understanding of platforms and technology

  • Strong creative experience—knows how to take an idea from concept to execution

  • A compelling portfolio of integrated work that shows understanding of both on- and off-line mediums.

  • CPG/retail, ecommerce experience highly preferred

  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, Envision and Axur

  • A proactive, collaborative approach

  • Ability to take constructive criticism and transform it into great work

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 

  • Participates in agency events and training

  • Ability to succeed in a deadline-oriented and fast paced environment

  • Flexibility to work extra hours with little to no prior notice

  • Ability to travel
