JOB SUMMARY:    Develops, presents and executes creative across multi-platforms with emphasis on the visual components of the communications for print and broadcast advertising, collateral materials, promotions, point of purchase, social and Internet.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Marketing art directors are the clever people that are responsible for what marketing materials look like. They are involved in concepting and creating elements that have instant, positive impact on the consumer in order to promote the product or brand being advertised. They can be involved in many different forms of marketing, including advertising, radio, online, emails, social, in-store, out-of-home, posters, collateral, and direct mailings. They might even be developing ‘viral’ video ads that promote products across social networks. 

  • They will generally work alongside a writer within the creative department and work with client briefs to concept, develop and produce effective marketing campaigns.

  • Must have experience in developing and implementing social, digital and online campaigns

  • They will also work with media planners/buyers and the production department to fully develop the marketing campaigns.

  • The role will include presenting ideas to colleagues and clients

  • They must be constantly familiarizing themselves with their clients' products and services, the target audience and their competitors' activities

  • Must be able to visually develop persuasive ideas in a variety of styles.

  • Must be able to amend, revise or redevelop materials or campaigns in response to critical feedback from the creative director, account team or clients.

  • Will produce sketches, storyboards, comps or roughs to visualize ideas

  • Will oversee campaigns through the production stage to completion.

  • Will often work on several campaigns at once, sometimes under pressure and often within tight deadlines.

  • Will be selecting and working with illustrators, photographers and other artists

  • Will be casting actors and talent for video, print and radio work and reviewing audition tapes and reviewing locations and attending photoshoots nationwide.

  • Will be liaising and directing production companies, photographers, directors, typographers, designers, outside vendors and printers.

  • Art directors must be able to organize, direct, and motivate other artists. They need to articulate their visions to artists and oversee production.

  • Participates in agency training initiatives and seminars.

  • Provides support and guidance to subordinate group members.

  • Have an interest in social and cultural trends and fashions.

  • Works productively with coworkers in other agency departments.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years of diverse agency experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Design or related field preferred.

  • Strong strategic, creative and conceptual abilities as demonstrated by outstanding portfolio.

  • Proficiency in relevant graphic design and art software.

  • Must be well versed in the role of social media in marketing

  • Good communication and organization skills.

  • Able to analyze visual content of creative materials, while maintaining the overall client vision.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Have a thorough understanding of photography, typography and printing

  • Review and approve designs, artwork, photography, and graphics developed by staff members

  • Applies constructive criticism to job execution and performance issues.

  • Must possess self-motivation, confidence, enthusiasm, flexibility, stamina and the ability to adapt.

  • Must include accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Must be self-directed.

  • Must assist in ensuring quality standards for creative product.

  • Must have a commercial awareness with the ability to understand a target audience.

  • Learns and follows agency processes and procedures.

  • Ability to collaborate with agency colleagues.

  • Ability to take direction and input from designated sources

  • Flexibility to work extra hours with little or no advance notification.

  • Performs duties with professionalism.​
