H-GAC’s Transportation Planning Department has an exciting opportunity for a Manager of programs. The Transportation Planning Department provides support to metropolitan planning, regional transportation plans, transportation improvement programs, transportation safety air quality programs such as Clean Cities and Commute Solutions along with special studies.
In this role, the selected candidate will provide management, oversight and coordination of a regional traffic incident management program that includes freeway surveillance, quick clearance by tow operators and scene management by police/fire departments. Primary responsibilities include coordinating with various stakeholders to facilitate meetings, building consensus, resolving conflicts, and soliciting participation. The incumbent will contribute to designing and developing procedures for implementing, administering and evaluating incident management activities and assist with the development training for incident management personnel. The incumbent will identify potential improvements in incident response, provide feedback and report performance to various parties. The incumbent will also be responsible for reviewing and managing the overall budget of the incident management program, including reviewing and managing agreements with contractors and participating agencies.
