Key responsibilIties

More specifically, the job entails:

  • Work with President, EIM to develop comprehensive content strategy, evaluating various types of content (feature film, television, native digital, apps, etc.), business models (revenue share, upfront guarantee, pay for placement, etc.), rights (airlines, other media) and investment levels

  • Develop and evaluate content options and make recommendations to the President, EIM

  • Negotiate all content acquisition and development agreements and work with Legal on execution

  • Serve as primary company contact with our content partners including Lionsgate

  • Develop new business opportunities for the company

  • Keep up with industry trends on content development, distribution and consumption and evaluate their impact on our business

  • Interface with other GEE businesses, particularly CSP, so that our content strategy meshes with other corporate operations and initiatives for maximum profitability

  • Respond to corporate requests for information, financials and presentations for senior management, auditors or GEE board

  • Work with GEE finance and accounting on accounts payable and revenue recognition issues

  • Oversee and approve the reporting to our content partners and the payment of royalties and guarantees

  • Maintain relationships with prospective business partners, outside stakeholders and represent EIM and GEE to the broader content community


  • Bachelor's degree required. MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in content development/acquisition or business development/strategic planning within a media business

  • Documented track record of content acquisition with a specific focus on profitability, or of developing and building new media business opportunities incorporating financial analysis, deal negotiation and operational oversight.

Areas of interest and intrinsic competencies

  • Solid project management skills with ability to multitask and manage multiple small to large projects in a cross-functional environment.

  • Strong interest and enthusiasm for the media business and business transformation.

  • Willingness and aptitude for thinking outside the box and adapting to new business trends.

  • Interest in the travel industry, particularly aviation and maritime.

  • Ability to interact with senior management and take on additional responsibilities.

Additional Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others and gains understanding.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

  • A high attention to detail, proactive work-style, and the ability to take initiative and work efficiently with little direction.

  • High level of enthusiasm and resourcefulness as well as professional integrity and confidentiality.
