Role Summary

Currently we are looking for Metadata Coordinator to join out busy and vibrant Metadata team. To provide Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) Entertainment and metadata entry requirements into Content Management Systems (CMS) via online portals and Excel, and then validate content loads. The goal is to contribute to a beautiful Graphical User Interface (GUI) according to the client’s expectations in order to enhance the airline passenger’s experience.

This role is of key importance for the testing, quality control and release of a digital product to the AVOD entertainment market. Airline passengers around the world see the GUIs built by our metadata team. Attention to detail and QC processes are key in ensuring a quality product is delivered.

Assisting the Timeline management, whilst dealing with incoming communications and problem solving is essential in this role. You are expected to manage and prioritise workloads and to understand the importance of delivery timelines whilst maintaining high standards of output. Good communication skills are vital, enabling liaison with different departments both internal to the business and externally where required. Willingness to work flexible hours, and as part of a team are a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Video/Audio filename creation (to integrator spec) and supply to internal and external departments
  • Populate media selection charts with encoding requirements
  • Interpretation of OEM specifications for all media types
  • Metadata Management (data entry/manipulation/validation)
  • Image processing using Photoshop (crop/resize/colour mode/file format)
  • Input of metadata (inc images) to online Content Management Systems
  • Structure/arrangement of GUI via Content Management Systems including disclaimer/ident/advert/promo placement
  • Creation of Status Sheets/Loading Sheets and Final Delivery Sheets
  • Quality Control of all published data
  • Some process design for new projects or project augmentations
  • Creation and updating of process and training documentation
  • Attend and contribute to airline huddles
  • Liaise and partner with Metadata teams in other Global Eagle offices

Qualifications/Experience

  • Educated at least to A level, degree preferable
  • Previous experience in an administrative role
  • Experience in using MS Office package; advanced proficiency in Excel is an advantage, knowledge of VBA can be useful
  • Self-motivation and management (autonomous)
  • Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to imagine the end product and make adjustments where necessary (e.g. the selected images affect the overall look and feel of each GUI)
  • Be sensitive to client requirements and project queries.
  • Systematic, methodical, proactive, accountable and responsible
  • Ability to build long term internal and external working relationships 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English 
  • A basic technical understanding of digital video and encoding file formats
  • Effective time management and multi-tasking skills
  • High level of computer literacy, with an aptitude for learning new technology and software
  • Ability to think creatively to overcome new problems in the most efficient way
  • The ability to react quickly and constructively in order to troubleshoot problems
  • The ability to priorities work while adhering to deadlines
