Logistics Engineer

Employment duration: Full time


Job Summary: The Logistics Engineer is responsible for providing analysis and creating optimized transportation solutions for prospective and existing customers through the use of software tools such as Appian-DirectRoute, Continuous Move Planner and MS Excel.
Job Responsibilities: 
  • Develops transportation models that can be used for current RFPs and expanded efforts. Requires the foresight of possible future scenarios and understanding the credibility of the logic used in each unique model.
  • Analyzes transportation data, determines sample size, and utilizes a variety of software packages to create an optimized transportation solution.
  • Defines operating statistic for new business opportunities and existing customer business.
  • Leads customer-facing and internal presentations of completed engineering projects.
  • Identifies opportunities for efficiency gains in existing operations through the use of modeling techniques and operational analysis.
  • Support pricing in RFP response preparation by collecting and summarizing the data appropriately and developing analyses that support the value proposition of the customer proposal.     
Education, Experience, Qualifications:
  • 0-12 months experience in a relevant field
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Graduated from an accredited college or university preferred
  • Business Management, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering coursework preferred
