Leverage data mining techniques and partner with various areas of the company to develop tools and resources to support overall pricing decisions.
Analyze large sets of structured and unstructured data to perform analytics on pricing concepts and perform various analyses to promote profitability and cost control on existing contracts, as well as, assist with pricing for new and current efforts.
Use data to Identify and develop cost reduction ideas and strategies.
Identify areas for process improvement and cost savings through data analytics practices.
Reporting development and execution for both internal and external Key Performance Indicator metrics.
Transportation market trend analysis and evaluation.
Price services appropriately; based on target profit margins for the company and the value customers receive; pricing includes annual bids, projects, spot quotes, etc.
Complete bids using network yields, historical market rates, internal matrix rates, origin and destination analysis, volumes, customer requirements, etc.
Increase efficiency and profitability through controls and analysis of the pricing, using costs (e.g. fuel, driver pay, etc.), market index comparisons, historical comparisons, supply & demand, network flow, etc.
Support Agent network, internal and external sales on bid packages and customer pricing, utilizing Pricing department processes, controls, and documentation to facilitate this task
Lead analysis efforts (e.g. customer accounts, areas / regions, low yielding freight, etc.) related to the profitability and pricing objectives / goals
Provide support in areas of pricing & fuel, specifically understanding how to compensate for variations in customer fuel and different fuel service charge methods (i.e. percentage based, break through, etc.)
Train and/or transfer knowledge of pricing related topics within the department and across the company
Increase efficiency and profitability through control, measurement, and analysis of pricing, fuel and customer yields.
Responsible for completion of spot quotes, Requests For Information (RFI’s), Requests for Proposal (RFP’s), and other related activities in support of the company, Sales, and the Pricing Department.
Prepare monthly pricing reports used for developing and bench-marking Sales strategies/goals.
Execute carrier and customer RFP & RFQ and assist in development and improvement of pricing processes.
Perform pre and post analysis on customer RFP & RFQ process.
RFP & RFQ award tracking and analysis.
Manage logistics cost center reporting; maintaining cost analysis reports.
Evaluate existing and new capabilities and establish new systems and processes for tracking, measurement, reporting, and analysis of all data.
Perform special projects as assigned.
