  • High School Graduate

  • Excellent customer service skills '

  • Demonstrate professional writing and verbal skills

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work quickly and efficiently

  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as communication, organization and prioritization skills

  • Demonstrate typing, math and computer skills Prior experience with scheduling preferred


  • This is a valuable position in that the majority of time is spent on coordinating surgery schedules with the clinics.

  • Interface between patients, facilities and the physicians.

  • Must be well-organized and computer literate.

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Ability to work efficiently, with interruptions and deadlines.

  • Responsible to contact the insurance carriers in the most efficient way to verify eligibility, pre-authorization requirements, covered services and determine the patient’s financial responsibilities.

  • Will also act as a receptionist as needed with an understanding of these duties.


  • Monday through Friday. No Saturdays, nights, or major holidays.


 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ·

  • Obtain required insurance authorizations, pre-certifications and referral requirements by providing clinical notes, images, and test results or other needed information to obtain the needed authorization. ·

  • Verify patient insurance information via internet, phone or through the referring physician network. ·

  • Educate patients on insurance requirements and potential coverage denials as appropriate. ·

  • Schedules procedures and coordinates appointments with doctors, facilities and patients. ·

  • Obtains appropriate authorization for surgeries and communicates these authorizations to the affected facilities. ·

  • Responds promptly, professionally and courteously to patient inquiries. ·

  • Makes appropriate changes in computer system. ·

  • Collects deductibles and or co-insurance payments and enters into to the patient account. ·

  • Adheres to all HIPAA rules and regulations.

  • Never accesses medical records inappropriately. ·

  • Knows and acts in all receptionists duties as needed. ·

  • Attends meetings as required. ·

  • Other duties and assignments as needed
