Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Successful completion an accredited phlebotomy training program with phlebotomy certificate. Good customer service and computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Certified phlebotomist preferred. Prefer 6 months of phlebotomy experience.
Description : We have a PRN phlebotomist position open in our Salem Laboratory. The qualified candidate will be available to fill in as needed on weekdays and some Saturdays. This position makes a significant contribution to patient care by providing excellent customer service and processing of patient samples for comprehensive lab testing for a variety of clinical specialties (with the exception of blood bank and microbiology) utilizing specialized training and knowledge. The right candidate will be patient focused, detail-oriented and have a passion for creating a positive team-centered environment. Essential Job Functions: Performs venipuncture, arterial and capillary punctures on patients following clinic protocols related to safety and infection control. Correctly identifies and labels specimens. Conducts laboratory tests on specimens. Enters data into computer. Instructs on urine collection procedures. Maintains patient confidentiality. Prepares equipment to efficiently collect blood products.
Hours: PRN (Weekdays and some Saturdays)
