Our diversity is our strength; we encourage people from all
backgrounds and experiences, particularly women, to apply.

At CARE, we seek a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live with dignity and security.

This has been our vision since 1945 when we were founded to send lifesaving CARE Packages® to survivors of World War II. Today, CARE is a global leader in the movement to eradicate poverty. In 2015, CARE worked in 95 countries and reached 65 million people with an incredible range of life-saving programs. We also put women and girls at the center of our work because we know that we cannot overcome poverty until all people have equal rights and opportunities. We seek dynamic, innovative thinkers to further our mission. If you share our core beliefs: poverty is an injustice; poverty is solvable; and together, we have the power to end it, join us.

It is estimated that nearly $1.4 trillion will need to be invested in developing markets each year to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, and it is well recognized that this cannot be achieved by nonprofit development aid efforts alone. While CARE is most widely recognized for its 70+ years of work improving livelihoods of people around the world through traditional grant-based development programming, it is also a pioneer in successfully adopting market-based solutions to combat poverty. CARE recognizes the imperative to engage with businesses and markets in the fight against extreme poverty and has created a mechanism to harness the transformational power of the private sector with CARE Enterprises, Inc. (CEI).

CEI is a for-profit subsidiary of CARE USA focused on the creation of transformative, dignified economic opportunities for people experiencing poverty by investing in proven and scalable for-benefit enterprises. CEI has raised and deployed $4m+ in the form of grants, loans and equity investments toward the creation of for-benefit enterprises, including acquisitions of majority stakes in three ventures in Bangladesh and Zambia. To take this work to scale, CEI is evolving to enable broader social impact by structuring its first fund of $30-50 million to provide access to capital and post-investment support to enterprises in frontier markets that have graduated from seed stage but have not qualified for more traditional sources of capital. We will leverage the footprint, deep knowledge, and sector expertise of CARE around the world combined with CEI’s creative financing structures and flexible approaches to unlock the potential of for-benefit enterprises that can sustainably transform lives.

CARE is seeking a driven, dynamic Managing Partner with a depth of experience to structure and promote such a fund, and a passion for working to lift people out of poverty.
