Seattle Parks and Recreation and ARC are recruiting Youth Basketball Officials for the Winter 2017 season. 

We are looking for people ages 15 and up to become basketball officials for the Citywide Youth League, which runs from January through March 2017. Games occur on Saturdays and Sundays. 

All applicants must pass a background check and be able to fulfill officiating duties. Training is mandatory and will be provided to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to work successfully as an official. We encourage women and minorities to apply.


Location:  Various Seattle Community Centers 

Schedule:  Saturdays and/or Sundays 

Start date:  January 2017 

End date:  March 2017 

Pay range:  Starts at $20.00 per hour


Schedule of Officials Training: 


Mandatory Orientation:  Jefferson Community Center ‚Äč

  • December 14 at 6:30pm 


Mandatory Training Options (must be pre-registered and attend all three sessions)

Option 1:  Jefferson Community Center

  • November 28 from 6:30pm – 8:30pm         
  • November 30 from  6:30pm – 8:30pm        
  • December 3 from 10:00am – 1:00pm       


Option 2:  Bitter Lake Community Center

  • December 5 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm         
  • December 8 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm         
  • December 10 from 10:00am – 1:00pm      



  • Must be over age 15 
  • Officials will be required to attend training session prior to the beginning of the season
  • Must pass criminal background check
  • Must provide valid government-issued ID and proof of eligibility to work in the US
  • Must sign up for direct deposit with either checking or savings account or Paycard
