The Senior Testing Engineer is responsible to ensure product requirements and quality standards of meshing software are satisfied as per company’s quality procedures. Helps to assess how well the product will meet customer needs both in terms of functionality and usability. Develops and applies customized test procedures for the organization's products. Works closely with other members of the product creation team and communicates with technical support specialists on product issues. Senior Testing engineer will be making contribution to the business in broad and multiple areas of testing.
•Performs software product testing and investigates possible causes of problems according to the company's overall development and testing processes.
•Analyzes requirements and develop test plans suitable for new features within the appropriate environment.
•Creates, updates, and modifies existing tests as necessary including the workflow scripts used by customers. Specifies and writes basic and advanced test cases.
•Performs functional, application, regression and performance tests in a manual and/or automated test environment.
•Executes industrial strength cases and investigates possible causes of problems and explore new ways to create high quality meshes
•Diagnose issues, as well as research and find solutions to a wide variety of increasingly complex problems.
•Participates in discussions to design efficient workflows to resolve customer issues.
•Investigates, prioritizes, and assigns software defect reports and enhancement requests.
•Understands and reproduces product defects and works with developers to determine the best resolution.
•Plans and implements testing initiatives.
•Performs coverage analysis and takes responsibility for test coverage in specific areas. Regularly coaches others and may act as the lead for a specific area of testing.
•Coordinates with other teams to address cross team dependencies.
•Works in various computing environments: Windows, Linux, VM’s, Compute Clusters, Cloud
•Maintains customer trust by testing products that represent the voice of the customer
•Performs other duties as assigned to improve the overall quality of ANSYS Inc. products
•Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical, Civil, or Aerospace Engineering or other engineering discipline
•Minimum 8 years professional experience as testing engineer
•Excellent user level experience with meshing applications and the associated engineering principles
•Expert level technical and/or product knowledge in meshing domain
•Demonstrates a strong customer focus
•Ability to establish good working relationships with Development and Support staff
•Excellent written and oral communication skills
•Thrives in a fast paced, diverse and dynamic team
•A thorough and careful approach to work; close attention to detail and quality
•Skilled in problem solving, Planning and Estimation Techniques
•Has a track record of ‘wins’ during participation in a number of projects and has proved as an essential resource to those projects.
•Has demonstrated very clear technical judgment, and routinely solves project level issues
•Post graduate degree preferred
•Familiarity with meshing tools, such as ANSYS Workbench Meshing, HyperMesh, ANSA is a plus
•Familiarity with analysis tools, such as ANSYS Mechanical or Fluent is a plus
•Experience with Windows, Linux, VM’s, Compute Clusters is preferred
•Knowledge of Test-Driven Development and experience with the agile development process are desirable
