Camp Attendant - Future Opportunity

The Camp Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining common areas and sleeping quarters in a camp setting and is reporting to the Camp Manager.

This position is safety sensitive and will require Drug and Alcohol testing as a condition of employment.

This position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Responsibilities:

  • Make the beds and change linen weekly, or as required
  • Flip mattress as required
  • Vacuum, dust all room furniture, blinds including hallway window frames, door frames, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, picture frames
  • Wash, scrub and sanitize showers, sinks, toilets, door handles, fridges, sink knobs, chair handles, drawer handles, drawer surfaces, blind wands, shower heads, shower ledges, medicine cabinets, closet handles, TV remotes, desk, desk shelves, bed light and switches
  • Empty garbage from all sleeping area
  • Wash all windows and mirrors on daily basis
  • Wash and spot clean walls and door thresholds
  • Wash and fold towels, linens and beddings
  • Load and unload laundry cart and linen truck
  • Clean the dryer lint screens after every cycle
  • Keep laundry room clean and organized
  • Load and unload cleaning products and supplies on to carts
  • Empty garbage and recycle daily and disinfect the containers
  • Remove snow from sidewalks and decks  as required
  • Provide clean containers with plastic liners for soiled towels and wash cloths
  • Keep an accurate record of all bedding allotted in camp and report any shortages to the Camp Manager and store all linen in a secure place
  • Assist with inventory of cleaning supplies
  • Ensure health and safety regulations and quality standards are maintained
  • Assist in unloading, loading and placing of groceries and supplies as required
  • Review Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)

Qualifications:

  • High School Certificate or Equivalent Education required
  • First Aid
  • WHMIS
  • H2s Alive, Bear Awareness, Electronic General Safety Orientation (eGSO) or Food Safe will be considered an asset
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, product and equipment
  • Minimum 3 months’ Janitorial and/or housekeeping experience in hospitality, healthcare and residential/commercial cleaning\
  • Capable of communicating in English (listening speaking, reading, writing) with clients, co-workers and management.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with others; and
  • Successfully complete HNCC administered WHMIS test at minimum 80 percent
  • Be able to operate  washers and dryers
  • Be able to operate vacuum machines, floor polishers and other cleaning electronic and non-electronic equipment
