Position Summary:

American Realty Advisors (ARA) is a private equity real estate firm which acts as the sponsor of various commingled funds which invest in real estate assets throughout the United States. Our strategies include value add, core, structured finance, mezzanine debt, and other types of investments. ARA also acts as the investment manager for separate accounts tailored to our investor’s goals. All our institutional investors are tax-exempt.

The Analyst, Real Estate Research & Strategy is a key contributor to ARA’s research and thought leadership activities. This position supports the Senior Analyst, Real Estate Research & Strategy in conducting property markets, capital market, and macroeconomic data research and analysis. The Analyst provides the research needed to generate presentations and thought leadership pieces in support of Investor Relations activities. This role requires an individual with a strong interest in commercial real estate research and analysis.

ARA is a registered investment advisor under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and an ERISA fiduciary with approximately $10 billion in assets under management. ARA, through its funds and separate accounts, acquires real estate investments throughout the United States.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to specialized research for quarterly and ad-hoc thought leadership pieces in support of investor relations.
  • Assist in development and preparation of conference presentations.
  • Manage and update research and data sources used in the development and presentation of the firm’s House View, including macroeconomic, capital market, and property market variables.
  • Assist in collection of competitor investment strategy analysis.
  • Respond to ad hoc internal and external requests for specialized graphs and data.
  • Maintain proprietary tech sector tracker and general monitoring of the sector.
  • Maintain the proprietary market, capital market, and economic momentum dashboards.


  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, real estate, economics, statistics, or a related field.


  • Minimum one year of commercial real estate research experience required.
  • Proficiency with Costar, Real Capital Analytics, NCREIF, Moody’s, U.S. Census Bureau, and similar external data sources.
  • Knowledge of the private equity real estate market and how such investments work and are structured is an essential part of this position.

  • Well-versed in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Job Specifications:

  • Status: This role is considered nonexempt under the Federal Labor Standards Act.
  • Expected work hours: 8:30 to 5:30, Monday through Friday with occasional weekends.
  • Travel: May be required to drive a personal vehicle for business occasionally.
  • Work environment and physical demands: General office environment includes but is not limited to periods of sitting at a computer, standing at a copier, and carrying files.
