Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Performs Buffet Runner position while also overseeing the Buffet Runners to ensure team members provide exemplary buffet service to guests in a friendly and warm manner.  Maintains a professional dining atmosphere at all times

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Leads and oversees the set up and breakdown of the restaurant buffet.
  • Ensures good health, safety and sanitation practices at all times. 
  • Reviews all menus and descriptions prior to service in order to answer guest questions. 
  • Oversees the pre-preparation and opening of the buffet in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the buffet area is neat and clean and provides appropriate stock and supplies.
  • Provides warm hospitable guest relations in all guest contacts, while maintaining a professional image at all times.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of team members to ensure that guests receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Informs guests of the resorts specialties and features.
  • Responds to special requests when possible or refers to supervisor when able to do so in a continuous effort to provide superior guest service.
  • Provides constructive input to foster process improvement within the department.
  • Performs standard side work and special side work as requested by management.
  • Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
  • 3 years of food and beverage experience required. Minimum of 1 year in a lead or similar position strongly preferred.
  • Experience communicating with guests in a confidant, mature and professional manner.
  • Possess excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal and guest service skills.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to read and comprehend written instructions.
  • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and tasks  in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and customer relations skills.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Current Food Handler or ServSafe Certificate required.
  • Must be able to obtain a Class I Gaming License.
  • Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance at all times (specific standards available).
