Assistant, Individual Giving & Campaigns
The Kennedy Center is the nation’s performing arts center and living memorial to President John F. Kennedy. Located on the banks of the Potomac River in Washington, D.C., the Center presents more than 2,000 performances each year across all genres, and is also home to artistic affiliates Washington National Opera and National Symphony Orchestra. The Center reaches millions of students, teachers, and families each year through its local and national school and community partnerships, as well as performances and experiences for young audiences. In 2019, The REACH—the first expansion in the Center’s nearly 50-year history—will open, creating a 21st century arts campus which promotes both formal and informal artistic interactions, and ensures all visitors to the Center can have meaningful artistic interactions, whether on stage or behind the scenes.
The Individual Giving & Campaigns team seeks an organized and motivated individual to join our growing team in support of The REACH. The Assistant, Individual Giving & Campaigns assists the Assistant Managers of Individual Giving & Campaigns and Director of Individual Campaigns & Planned Giving in the planning, coordination, and execution of the Capital Campaign. This includes research, cultivation, and tracking of prospects and current donors, as well as general Campaign and event logistics and administration. The incumbent manages his/her time efficiently, anticipates the needs of the Assistant Managers and Director, and regularly takes initiative to advance campaign strategies.
Provide support to the Assistant Managers of Individual Giving & Campaigns, Director of Individual Campaigns & Planned Giving, and Vice President of Individual Giving for all Capital Campaign tasks and related initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
40% Maintain all Campaign systems & processes, including:
30% Draft correspondence, such as solicitations, acknowledgments, tax receipts, and follow up materials
20% Prepare donor and strategy research projects in support of Campaign goals, including scheduling of internal and external travel, meetings, and events
10% Respond to inquiries from prospects and Campaign donors
