Southwest Behavioral & Health Services is a large and growing, non-profit community-based provider of behavioral health services with locations throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area, rural Maricopa County, Gila, Pinal, Mohave, Coconino, and Yavapai Counties. We are a well-established voice in the community with more than 115 sites, over one thousand employees, and 40 years’ experience. Southwest Behavioral & Health Services encourages volunteer involvement and the development of community resources to enhance the mental health care programs and to build closer ties with the community. Volunteers have traditionally been an integral part of programs. They enhance care and help to build closer ties between the community and the mental health system. In addition to providing extra "hands" and support to patients and their families, volunteers help dispel the stigma and misconceptions often surrounding mental illness. We have opportunities for student interns or externs, vocational trainees, and volunteers who meet the following qualifications.
Please specify in your application and cover letter which of the above opportunities (ie, student intern or extern, vocational trainee, or volunteer) you are applying for. Our program locations span both the Phoenix Valley and Northern AZ rural communities. Please indicate on your application the below location(s) near you. In the Phoenix area choose from: West Valley, Central Phoenix, East Valley, South Phoenix, and Buckeye. In northern Arizona choose from: Payson, Flagstaff, Prescott Valley, Kingman, Bullhead City, and Lake Havasu.
