An exciting opportunity currently exists for an Assistant Accountant to join the Moores Business Services team on a full time permanent basis.

About the role

Reporting to and working closely with the Business & Pricing Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with all accounting functions in the firm including but not limited to:

  • accounts processing (accounts payable, accounts receivable);

  • trust accounts;

  • bank and general ledger reconciliations;

  • investment transaction and ledgers;

  • receipting;

  • client billing;

  • month-end and annual reporting; and

  • ad-hoc tasks as required;

There is ample scope for growth in the role with a view to take complete ownership of the accounting function.

About you

The person we are looking for will have been exposed to a wide range of accounting functions including trust accounting (desirable but not essential), have over 5+ years accounting experience; will have completed or be working toward a formal qualification in Accounting and be able to demonstrate expertise in a range of software packages including Excel at an intermediate to advanced level. 

Ideally you will have prior experience with Affinity or a similar system in a professional services environment.

Your communication skills and eye for detail coupled with your ability to organise and time manage will ensure success.  Prior experience in the legal industry will be highly regarded.
