JOB TITLE: Project Quality Control Lead
DEPARTMENT: Quality Management
LOCATION: Lower Mainland, BC
The Project Quality Control Lead who will be responsible to ensure weld, coating compaction and other inspection take place and results are in compliance with the specifications throughout the project.  The Quality Control Lead will implement Michels Quality Management system to meet and reach field expectations. The successful candidate will also need to control all required documentations for the duration of the project and to adhere to all Michels Canada Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions
  • Implement Quality Management system at site
  • Coordinate with quality inspections with all site subcontractors
  • Coordinate with customer representatives on quality matters/concerns
  • Distribute relevant QA/QC documentation to site subcontractors
  • Verify that the quality related site activities are in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Participate in site internal and external audits
  • Coordinate all quality site inspections the site QC inspectors and subcontractors and suppliers QC departments
  • Ensure all quality control documentation is compiled and completed
  • Control all non-conformance reports and ensure corrective actions and preventative actions are undertaken 
  • Review customers specifications and  provide relevant training to the site QC inspector
  • Ensure Quality records, acceptance certificates are prepared and collated in accordance with project requirements
  • Insure Inspection and Test plans are followed and update as required
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must possess a valid drivers license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven and an acceptable driving record as determined by the DOT Operations Director and Michels Legal Department
  • 2-5 Years of Field Experience
  • Coating inspection CSA Z245.30-14
  • NACE  Level II Coating Inspection
  • CWB Level 1 Welding Inspection
  • Familiarity with standard Microsoft programs
