As a Senior Estimator, your key responsibilities for supervising and assigning bids to a regional estimating staff. The individual is additionally responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, attending pre-bid meetings, soliciting material and subcontractor quotes, and ensuring that everything required to successfully bid and win the project is accomplished. Estimators must be forward thinking, performance driven, and quality focused. Estimators also work with the Project Management teams to follow-up on bids and budgets to close the business. Critical for success are personal dedication to the Michels Core Values, and the abilities to work independently and produce highly accurate work in a timely matter.

What it takes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from a 4 year college or university
  • 10+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Negotiating experience
  • Must possess a valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
  • Solid MS Office and estimating software skills
  • Position requires around 25% travel for jobsite visits, pre-bid meetings, and pre-construction meetings
