Assistant Project Manager

Description

Michels Pipeline Construction currently has opportunities for Assistant Project Managers.  This position will provide project support for all aspects of construction. This position will be project based and require travel to project sites throughout the United States. 

The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:

  • Promote safety – assist with the implementation of all applicable HSE programs, policies and procedures
  • Understand the terms and scope of the contract as it applies to the project
  • Help facilitate subcontractor activities under direct supervision
  • Track material, production, and project costs and provide documentation to PM
  • Assist PM with federal/state agency correspondence and reporting
  • Maintain project schedule tracking for PM
  • Attend construction related meetings to support project related functions
  • Basic estimating, take‐offs, solicit quotes
  • Provide onsite administrative support activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Prior project management experience in construction and/or a B.S in Construction Management, Civil or Mechanical Engineering with prior internship experience working for a contractor in a project engineering or related role is preferred.  Applicants must be able to handle multiple projects at one time, possess strong attention to detail, possess the ability to successfully negotiate terms and conditions, manage tight deadlines and demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication to collaborate with various levels of management. Proficiency in computer software specifically with estimating and job cost tracking software is preferred.  Experience with Primavera Software and Microsoft Office Suite is highly beneficial.
