For our Geneva, Switzerland office, we are looking for a Consultant 

(experience in global health and/or global development preferred)

Responsibilities
 

You would spend the majority of your time on client projects. You would have the opportunity to work across FSG’s different approaches, areas of focus, and client segments. You would:

 

Serve on client projects as a team member:

  • Conduct and synthesize research in an accurate, thorough, and timely manner and share ideas for ways to improve research plans.
  • Design surveys and interview guides that are efficient and effective; incorporate relevant cultural and power dynamics into survey design.
  • Conduct rigorous and accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Translate findings into creative, data-based insights to help inform client recommendations.
  • Communicate perspectives and ideas in clear, concise, and compelling ways.
  • Participate in and help facilitate inclusive discussions with colleagues and clients.
  • Collaborate with team members by giving and receiving feedback.
  • Assist with project logistics and coordination.

 

Contribute to other aspects of the firm’s development:

  • Support the creation of articles, publications, and blog posts through research, writing, and editing
  • Assist with research for business development proposals as needed
  • Contribute to FSG’s internal culture including our commitment to an inclusive work environment

 

Profile

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s degree in a relevant field strongly preferred.

 

Professional experience:

  • 2-3 years of professional experience, at least 2 years either functioning in strategy consulting environment or in-house corporate strategy team or similarly relevant experience (e.g., roles that require excellent research, data analysis and strategic planning skills). Experience considering how solutions may impact a range of stakeholders, including marginalized communities, is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with primary and secondary research; experience gathering data including perspectives of people directly experiencing the particular social issue preferred.
  • Experience considering and applying equity and inclusion principles strongly preferred (e.g. disaggregating data, addressing disparities between populations and/or designing culturally appropriate interview guides and recommendations, etc.).
  • Relevant Global Health and/or Global Development experience preferred.

 

Commitment to social change:

  • Passion for social change, and proven commitment to work in the social sector.
  • Deep interest in one or more of the following idea sets (catalytic philanthropy, collective impact, shared value, strategic learning and evaluation & systems change).

 

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in French and English is required, fluency in Spanish a plus.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with exceptional attention to details.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate findings into appropriate, clear, and meaningful recommendations.
  • Ability to multitask and bring robust time-management skills in a fast-paced, client services environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Excel (charts, graphs, and pivot tables) and PowerPoint.

 

Ability to travel domestically or internationally 20-30% of the time (varies by project).

 

Position

 

This is a full-time role in FSG’s Geneva, Switzerland office. We offer a competitive and equitable compensation package with the goal of attracting and retaining exceptional people. Salary bands are set according to an explicit compensation policy, and relevant market data is analyzed when setting bands for each role.  We also offer a generous benefits package.

 

The Consultant position offers opportunity for advancement, pending performance, to the following roles: Senior Consultant, Associate Director, Director, and Managing Director.
