Job Qualifications:

Aurora Flight Sciences is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, analytical Financial Analyst to join our team.  This position will provide financial analysis and support for development and production programs. This individual will be responsible for establishing EVMS on a new program and overseeing program performance and reporting. The Financial Analyst will assist program managers in reviewing project costs, developing and maintaining ETCs/EACs, and analyzing data to optimize financial performance.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Provide program support by preparing and analyzing baseline budgets, spend plans, budget vs. actual reports, estimates to complete (ETCs) and estimates at complete (EACs).
  • Earned value set-up, calculations, and metrics
  • Provide meaningful financial analysis on assigned programs.
  • Provide assistance in program internal and external reporting requirements, other contractually obligated financial reports, and ad-hoc reports as applicable.
  • Analyze actuals, historical data, learning curves and other project cost data
  • Work as part of proposal teams including interpreting solicitation requirements, assisting in the development of pricing strategies, identifying risks, preparing fully compliant and competitive cost volumes and presenting cost proposal financial information for review by management.
  • Evaluate opportunities / investments using net present value, IRR, net cash flow and break even calculations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS/BA Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience with a government contractor is required as is a working knowledge of GAAP, CAS, and FAR. Experience in a defense, aerospace, or aircraft design/manufacturing environment in desirable.
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) is required.
  • Familiarity with various contract types including FFP, CPFF, CPIF, T&M etc. and the pricing and accounting fundamentals for each are required.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle or another ERP system is desired.
  • Experience creating, modifying and maintaining resource loaded MS Project schedules is desired.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
  • Must be prepared to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently and provide inputs to process and tool enhancements.
  • Must be a U.S. person (US Citizen or Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder)

Physical Requirements:

Effective use of computers and general office equipment required.

Shift Requirements:

Up to 10% travel may be required.
