Aurora is seeking an experienced Facility Security Officer (FSO) to administer the daily operations of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) and implement procedures and controls to safeguard classified as well as special program information, as required. Key to success in this role includes the ability to integrate NISP security operations with: Responsible for administration and implementation of security documentation, controls, and procedures to safeguard materials, documents, property, and physical assets relating to classified programs. Ensures compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and stated government industrial security requirements.

Specific Responsibilities:

Other duties as assigned, to include:

  • Compliance to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) security requirements embedded in our federal contracts, related to federal client-designated CUI/sensitive information and personnel security program requirements.

  • Manage clearances and personnel security clearances to assure compliance with the NISPOM and protect classified information and classified information systems in compliance with all applicable federal laws, policies and procedures.

  • Administers and provides recommendations to policy and procedures for the management of classified material.

  • Ensure the security and accountability of all government COMSEC (Communication Security) hardware assigned.

  • Ensures that all such materials are properly marked and secured in accordance with the NISPOM and other applicable regulatory documentation.

  • Evaluates, determines, and maintains accountability on destruction of DOD and internally generated classified material.

  • Leads security audits, pre-inspections and Industrial security investigations in accordance with the NISPOM requirements.

  • Responsible for compliance to physical security requirements.

  • Process Fingerprints.

  • Conduct Weekly Security Briefing to all New employees and conducts cleared employees exit interviews.

  • Conduct Program In-Briefing and out briefings

  • Maintains and updates security databases and tracks all site international travel.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent as FSO

Required Skills

  • Must have an active TOP SECRET US Government Security Clearance.

  • Facility Security Officer certification through CDSE for possessing facilities.

  • Proficient in standard security applications, to include JPAS, SWFT, DISS, OBMS.

  • Familiar with RMF and JSIG requirements.

  • Analytical thought needed to resolve issues in a variety of complex situations

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

Physical Requirements:

Must be willing to travel 10% of the time.

Must be able to lift and move computing and communications equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.

Shift Requirements: 

Some after hours /weekend work may be necessary to support priority time sensitive initiatives or computer security incident response activities.
