Position Overview

This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing business offering a dynamic workplace.  DAS is the leading provider of Legal Expense Insurance, a relatively new class of insurance in Canada.  After the Event cover provides customers with the financial support needed to pursue their legal rights, providing protection if they lose or discontinue their claim.  To learn more visit das.ca

We seek an individual who is passionate about taking a hands-on-role in building the ATE legal expense insurance market in Canada, working closely with the rest of the management team, brokers and law firms.

You are enthusiastic and embrace the challenges of working in a smaller, fast-paced, entrepreneurial insurance company.  That dynamic, along with many other reasons, is why DAS Canada was selected as one of 2016’s Best Workplaces in Canada!


Roles and Responsibilities

  • ­Promote business development of ATE nationally
  • Educate the legal industry on ATE insurance
  • Plan and execute ATE insurance implementation process for new law firms
  • Assist in individual case underwriting and handling
  • Work with law firms to ensure timely reporting of case development and collection of premium
  • Act as point of contact for lawyers and law firm staff re: technical and administrative queries
  • Assist in the development of DAS office staff in field of responsibility
  • Assist in development and implementation of sales strategies
  • Act as an ambassador for DAS and promote the strategy and values of the organization
  • Maintain relationships with key brokers, principals, law firms and members of the insurance and legal communities
  • Maintain flexibility and adaptability in order to lead new projects and company strategies
  • Assure own personal training and development
  • Maintain internal relationship with DAS Canada staff



  • Law degree or equivalent professional qualifications, practicing Canadian lawyer preferred
  • Good knowledge of the legal community and well-regarded by lawyers
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • At least 2 years of legal industry experience
  • Demonstrates the highest degree of professional ethics, honesty and integrity
  • High energy, good organizational skills and above all the ability to lead and coach
