POSITION:             Director, Marketing

Statement of Purpose:

The Director of Marketing is responsible for all consumer marketing program developments supporting the activities of Mimi’s Cafe brand core marketing strategies.  This position will create new marketing initiatives, and enhance the current marketing initiatives that leverage digital & print media, social marketing efforts, and PR opportunities that support the Mimi’s Café national marketing windows.  The role requires a sincere commitment to work collaboratively in order to obtain input and insights from key constituents across the brand.  This includes high attention to cross-functional excellence as it pertains to communications both internally and externally. This position reports to the Vice President, Marketing.

Key Responsibilities & Competencies:

  • Creates and manages the Mimi’s merchandising strategy including plan-o-grams.

  • Maintains and communicates the Mimi’s brand standards updates.

  • Works cross-functionally throughout the organization to ensure marketing and brand identity excellence is communicated to the Mimi’s guests at all touchpoints.

  • Creates, manages and implements all elements of the advertising and marketing calendar strategy. Oversees details of promotional events and cause marketing initiatives that are critical to achieving brand goals.

  • Assists the VP Marketing to identify resources for evaluation of marketing trends, competitive activity, and customer behaviors to translate into impactful growth strategies.

  • Manages Local Store Marketing programs and calendars.Manages the Mimi’s internal consultants for development of local/regional marketing programs that are integrated with the national calendar and testing efforts.

  • Works with various outside agency partners on press releases, collateral materials, and social media content. Makes recommendations to the VP Marketing for all partner materials including press releases, media alerts and online materials to ensure integrity of branding, style and information.

  • Supervises the Mimi’s Café Project Manager to ensure optimal program delivery and that all projects are delivered against the Mimi’s Strategy Plan Process guidelines.

  • Executes and oversees all implementation details of online marketing infrastructure and web strategy.

  • Directs and manages agency contacts for all special consumer target programs (such as Families/Kids), direct marketing, and digital and consumer research studies.

  • Maintains the product marketing process and calendar.

  • Travels, as needed, to other geographical areas throughout the U.S. to lead meetings for local and regional marketing initiatives, visit cafes, meet with vendors, and to attend company meetings, conferences, etc.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field, Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the food service/restaurant industry.

  • Minimum of 10 years previous director level experience in product marketing, brand marketing, digital marketing, consumer research, merchandising, advertising and promotions.

  • Proven experience and ability to take product (as well as new market development) from concept to implementation

Knowledge:

  • Strong experience in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Windows-based programs.

  • Excellent communication skills in multiple mediums to multiple audiences including public speaking and written (including electronic communications).

  • Extremely organized and detail oriented.

  • Solid project management skills; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to partner and interact professionally across the organization and with outside contacts.

  • Self-motivated to set priorities and work with limited direction
